An excerpt of her video has been included in the video 10 Top Painting Tips with nine other artists from around the world (videos by Teaching Art, UK).

Cindy has been a recipient of over 70 awards and her paintings have been included in several books and publications. Her work has been displayed in numerous national and international juried shows, group and solo exhibits, and can be found in private and corporate collections.

Artist Statement

My art career started with a box of crayons and a coloring book at the age of three and I have been honing my skills ever since! My professional career began in the early 80's painting portrait commissions, a practice that continues today.

I am self-taught in watercolor, with the exception of a beginner course. Being detail-oriented, I prefer a realistic approach to painting using warm colors on my palette. I apply watercolor paint in a different fashion than is typically used for this medium. With numerous glazes and high concentrates of pigment I can achieve more intense and vibrant color.

My artwork is influenced by so many interests that bring me joy: flower gardening, people, animals, antiques, wine tasting, and a deep appreciation for architectural details in the US and Europe.
Undoubtedly, there are more paintings that I want to do than I have time, but there is nothing I would rather do than work towards that impossible goal.

Cindy Agan's book and video inspires as well as instructs the reader how to present captivating subjects in a realistic manner and learn controlled techniques, painting step by step demonstrations based on her most popular subjects that reach the heart and soul. Both are published worldwide and are ideal for beginning and established artists.

Attention Book Buyers

There are paint colors that are used in the book that may be unfamiliar to you such as Peachy Keen, Coffee with Cream, and Coastal Fog, etc. These paints are the American Journey brand and can only be found in the Cheap Joe's Catalog www.cheapjoes.com 1-800-227-2788. This information was to be included in the book, but was omitted by accident. I apologize for any confusion.
